Palermo Airport (PMO)

Palermo Airport also known as Falcone-Borsellino, the airport is located 35 km from Palermo, the capital city of the Italian island of Sicily. The IATA code used to refer to the airport is PMO. Falcone Borsellino airport is still one of the busiest southern airports in Italy, with many national and international flights.

The airport structure is organized above one terminal, a total width of 450 acres with two runways.The terminal has four levels, a subterranean floor, a ground floor, a first floor and a second floor, with arrivals and departures in both upper levels. Train: Palermo airport has its own train station that you can use to either depart from or arrive to. Punta Raisi will bring you right to the city of Palermo via the Trinacria Express. The station is located underneath the terminal and is designed as an underground railway. It takes about an hour to get from the airport to Palermo city’s center on the train.

Car rental: You may rent a car at Palermo airport at one of the many rental counters within the airport. Rental services are located in the arrival hall and are provided by Europcar, Avis, Hertz and Autoeuropa.

Bus: If you prefer to travel by bus, you may do so at the Palermo airport. It is about the same cost and travel time as the train, but it has more frequent and more convenient drop-off locations. Busses arrive and depart from both the Palermo city center and the airport every half hour.
